Weekly Winners…

This week I went bee hunting with my kids. We caught some interesting insect activities on camera and have enjoyed them immensely. I hope you enjoy them as well. (By the way, it’s a little unnerving to have a bunch of bees fly at you when you are looking at them through a telephoto lens, I had a hard time not backing up!)

Bumbling around
Bumbling around

The center of the sun

Color coordinated

Busy Bee

Shimmer

Just a sip

Sibling rivalry

Diving in

Hanging out

We also caught two butterflies.

Gorgeous array

Delicate beauty

(I will be adding these images onto the Gallery where they will be available for purchase if you are so inclined. I am not sure I will choose to offer these in poster size, as a 20×30 inch bee might be more unnerving than lovely. Thank you for stopping by my Weekly Winners post today!)

  4. Absolutely the best bee shot series I’ve seen this summer. And the butterfly? Wow! I’m always amazed that anyone can get such great shots of things that move around so much. Gorgeous.

  9. judithshakespeare – My name is Judith Shakespeare… Actually, no, my name is not Judith. My name is Courtney, but I’m also known to turn in the direction of a hollered mom, mommy, mama, or ma as well. For the past ten years, I have been married to an occasionally wonderful man with whom, thanks to a wonderful chemistry set purchased on eBay for a mere $8, I created three devilishly cute heathens: Little Man (9), That Middle One (4), and The Baby (2). Yes, that means that I am one of those often terrifying creatures known as “Breeders”; and, no, I didn’t need a license for that. I am your basic tattooed, liberal, slacker mom whose hobbies include (but are not limited to) rambling incoherently, expertly removing used bubblegum from Barbie’s hair, artistically glaring at little league parents, gossiping, protesting, and cooking a seven course meal while practicing global espionage in my favorite pair of Dolce pumps. Okay, I made that last one up… I’ve never made a meal with more than two courses in my life, but you get the point.

That third one is STUNNING! All of them are… Fabulous job, honey!
